The Pacman

When I was in the 4th grade, I loved watching World Wrestling Federation until the time I learned that it was scripted.

I just laugh at myself when I remember watching Wrestlemania and I prayed hard for Bret Hart to win. Well, thanks to Justin, my High School friend, he told me that it was just fake.

I love watching Basketball games. If I were to make it an analogy.. it would be:


Korea: Soccer;  Philippines: Basketball


 Everybody in the Philippines likes watching Basketball games until there was Manny Pacquiao.

Why was Manny Pacquiao called the PACMAN?





Well, we all know the Japanese game, wherein Pacman eats all four ghosts who come his way.

When I asked my brother this question, he just smirked at me and wondered why I didn't get the point. Well, I could've said that it was because his surname just sounds like it and other people just made lots of meanings out of it. Anyway, my brother told me his interpretation and he said because Manny is just UNSTOPPABLE.


I really don't like watching Boxing games. It's so manly-ish. It's violent and it's real.


Teacher Mitch was my constant textmate last Saturday night and we were just talking about, oh well, Manny Pacquiao. Our texts were mostly about Manny Pacquiao's interviews..


Yesterday, at 2 in the afternoon, Me and my mom watched Manny's game versus the brit, Ricky Hatton. Pacquiao knocked Hatton down in just two rounds. That easy and short. And most of us thought that the latter was a tough one.
 Erik Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez, Oscar dela Hoya and Ricky Hatton were like Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde..

There was no thrill at all. It's like you've watched two amateur boxers in a famous place in the states. The sponsors were not that satisfied, I'm sure and even those people who watched the game live felt they wasted lots of dollars over a two-round match. Batista, who is also Filipino and a famous WWE wrestler, held Manny Pacquiao's belt ---- Can you imagine? Ne-Yo, Mariah Carey and hubby Nick Cannon, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Longoria and Mario Lopes were amongst Manny's fans.. Filipinos were really outnumbered by the Brits who can afford the tickets even more -- not surprising because they're filthy rich. The Brits were like singing a song for Manny Pacquiao but then again, after TWO rounds, Ricky Hatton's falling down prevailed (London Bridge tune) Manny Pacquiao isn't even that handsome, his english speaking skills need improvement, his famous "You know" makes us laugh at him. But mind you, his fights decrease crime rates. He is humble in every way. He trusts God. And he makes every single Filipino proud. Anyway, I wrote this because I was just touched by how Manny Pacquiao makes us proud of ourselves thinking that we live in a third world country. Now, what are those Brits going to say? It's not just their bridge that fell down.. ~~  Congratulations, Manny! You, truly, are our pride!!~~
