GG addiction

"Hey Upper East Siders! Gossip Girl here, bringing you

the most scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite..."
 Who doesn't know these lines?
Who hasn't seen Blair's headbands? Or Serena's

coats? Or Chuck's scarves? Or Nate's bangs? Or Dan?

Or Jenny? Or Vanessa?

I must say that I, too, am one of the avid viewers of

the American TV series, Gossip Girl..

What's not to like?

The show's setting is in

Manhattan. We all know

that a lot of American TV

series have chosen the

Earth's capital to be their

main setting.

The Office, Law

and Order, CSI, Psych,

30 Rock, Sex and the City and

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. are such.

Gossip Girl is literally a mystery person

sending gossip to everybody's mobile

phone via text or picture messages to

tell the latest happening about the main

characters -- as they are rich and

famous.

Each character has their signature personality

The meanie

Blair Waldorf is the daughter of a famous fashion designer, Eleanor Waldorf. She is entitled as the "Queen Bee" of Constance as she has minions who help her just bully just as almost anyone she likes. She is Nate Archibald's childhood sweetheart and Serena Van der Woodsen's bestfriend.

The bad-girl-gone-good

Serena Van der Woodsen is popular in Constance Billard School since men and women find her very attractive. She is adventurous and outgoing, opposite Blair who is pristine and reserved. She has dated many men considering her young age.

The womanizer

Chuck is the son of Bart Bass, owner of the Bass Industries, properties include The Palace. He is a certified womanizer. He acquired his being defensive to be able to shield his anger towards his father. He is Nate's bestfriend and in love with Blair.

The down-to-earth, pretty guy

Nate Archibald is from the wealthy family of Van der Bilt. He is Blair's childhood sweetheart but eventually is a target to cougars since he is very charming and nice.

Dan Humphrey lives in Brooklyn and got a scholarship in St. Jude's School for boys. He lives a humble and simple life until he dated Serena in the first season.

Jenny Humphrey is Dan's younger sister and also goes to Constance Billard School. She tries to be like Blair Waldorf, even competing with her through schemes and lies. She wants to be Constance's new Queen Bee but banished by her social status.

For me, Gossip Girl is television's Titanic

since F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

And I'm not just saying

this because I'm a Gossip

Girl fan.
It has this charisma that

keeps everybody tuning

into it.

If ever you get to watch E!

News, Ryan Seacrest and

Giuliana dePandi Rancic

always talk about GG.

The show is all about teenagers.

RICH Teenagers. It's all about blackmail, lies,

power-tripping, betrayal, peer pressure,

social climbing and discrimination.

It makes us see the reality that the RICH

are the POWERFUL ones.

And yet, the show also makes us realize that the RICH

are NORMAL, too.

They are true friends. They are capable

of loving. They have family problems.

They have issues. They cry. They get

betrayed.

And MONEY isn't everything --- even to

them.

The show's writer, Josh Schwartz, is just superb.

You'll never know what to expect from the main

characters.
You'll never know where the story goes.
And that's what keeps me watching it. And Blair. And

Nate. And Chuck.

I am not a teenager anymore but it

always feels good to be young at

heart~~

What about you?

What's your favorite TV series?
