Money. A lot of people like it - including yours truly.

When I do have classes with

Advanced students and ask them if

they like money, they'll always say

that they do.

Some would say that money makes

them happy.

Some would say that money is a necessity but

not overall happiness.

One student told me that

money doesn't make him

happy. It just makes him buy

all the things that he

wants to buy and for him,

that's not happiness but

only satisfaction -- and I've always

wanted this student because he always made his

point. With money you can buy everything and

anything~~ cars, bags, accessories, cosmetics.

I do get it when people like money. But

to love it is absurd.

I like money but not as much as I appreciate the

world around me with so much joy because I don't

hurt others. I don't judge them.

And I'm not saying that it makes us all bad people if

we love it. It's hypocrisy.

Unless there still is Galleon

trade, I'm afraid we

have to keep on earning money.

Well, my friend Kate always talks about how she

wants to have a foreign hubby for her to be well-off.

And since she's my friend, I respect whatever she

wants to do with her life.

She's kind, smart, thoughtful. She's

sweet in her own little way.

She's a good daughter and a loving

sister, too. She's very friendly and you

can always see her smile.

What's not to love about her, huh?

I just warned her that money can change everything

and I don't want that friend of mine to just be history.

I don't want everything I have just

mentioned to disappear because of

tons of Benjamin Franklin bills.

I like Kate because she is what she is.

Does money make the world go round? In a way, yes.

But still, the best things in life are free.

Love. Joy. Parents. Brothers. Sisters.

Friends. Sleep. Laughter. Music.

Blue skies. Smile. Peace of mind.

...and the thought that you make other people happy

with your existence.

That's priceless.

The Pacman

When I was in the 4th grade, I loved watching World Wrestling Federation until the time I learned that it was scripted.

I just laugh at myself when I remember watching Wrestlemania and I prayed hard for Bret Hart to win. Well, thanks to Justin, my High School friend, he told me that it was just fake.

I love watching Basketball games. If I were to make it an analogy.. it would be:

Korea: Soccer;  Philippines: Basketball

Everybody in the Philippines likes watching Basketball games until there was Manny Pacquiao.

Why was Manny Pacquiao called the PACMAN?

Well, we all know the Japanese game, wherein Pacman eats all four ghosts who come his way.

When I asked my brother this question, he just smirked at me and wondered why I didn't get the point. Well, I could've said that it was because his surname just sounds like it and other people just made lots of meanings out of it. Anyway, my brother told me his interpretation and he said because Manny is just UNSTOPPABLE.

I really don't like watching Boxing games. It's so manly-ish. It's violent and it's real.

Teacher Mitch was my constant textmate last Saturday night and we were just talking about, oh well, Manny Pacquiao. Our texts were mostly about Manny Pacquiao's interviews..

Yesterday, at 2 in the afternoon, Me and my mom watched Manny's game versus the brit, Ricky Hatton. Pacquiao knocked Hatton down in just two rounds. That easy and short. And most of us thought that the latter was a tough one.
Erik Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez, Oscar dela Hoya and Ricky Hatton were like Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde..

There was no thrill at all. It's like you've watched two amateur boxers in a famous place in the states. The sponsors were not that satisfied, I'm sure and even those people who watched the game live felt they wasted lots of dollars over a two-round match.
Batista, who is also Filipino and a famous WWE wrestler, held Manny Pacquiao's belt ---- Can you imagine?

Ne-Yo, Mariah Carey and hubby Nick Cannon, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Longoria and Mario Lopes were amongst Manny's fans.. Filipinos were really outnumbered by the Brits who can afford the tickets even more -- not surprising because they're filthy rich.

The Brits were like singing a song for Manny Pacquiao but then again, after TWO rounds, Ricky Hatton's falling down prevailed (London Bridge tune)

Manny Pacquiao isn't even that handsome, his english speaking skills need improvement, his famous "You know" makes us laugh at him. But mind you, his fights decrease crime rates. He is humble in every way. He trusts God. And he makes every single Filipino proud.

Anyway, I wrote this because I was just touched by how Manny Pacquiao makes us proud of ourselves thinking that we live in a third world country.

Now, what are those Brits going to say? It's not just their bridge that fell down.. ~~

Congratulations, Manny! You, truly, are our pride!!~~

The Powerful Casanova

If I have a time machine and could go back in time,
I'd definitely choose 16th century England.

This is because I started watching the HBO Original
series, The Tudors, 3 weeks ago.

The series talks about the life of
Henry VIII as King of
England, Lord of Ireland (later
became King) and
claimant of France. I am so into it
because it talked
about facts and events during "his
majesty's" reign.

If you get to watch the series,

you'll hate him for
being such a Casanova but love him because he still
had the best interests for England.

Anyway, I'm not yet done watching the first season
(and it only has 10 episodes) because I'm always not
home during weekends. I just got to watch episodes 6
and 7 last Sunday afternoon as I was waiting for the
sun to set and go out of the house. You may all well
know that I do not like the SUN.

I could proudly admit that I
am the girl version of Lestat
de Lioncourt minus having to
crave for blood at midnight.

As I read facts about King

Henry VIII, he was not even close to

being attractive. But to make the series

more appealing and interesting to its

audience, they made Jonathan Rhys

Meyers play his majesty. Frankly, he,

being Henry VIII, is overrated. It has a lot of irony...

You see..

Natalie Dormer is Anne Boleyn
resurrected. It's plain creepy looking at
her resembling the unfortunate queen.

Henry VIII had six wives and two of them were
accused of adultery, imprisoned in the Tower of
London and later on, beheaded. He also had numerous
mistresses - most of them, the Queen's maids.

1. Katherine of Aragon (annulled)

2. Anne Boleyn (beheaded)

3. Jane Seymour (died because of peupural disease)

4. Anne of Cleves (annulled)

5. Catherine Howard (beheaded)

6. Catherine Parr

Among King Henry VIII's wives, the most
controversial was his marriage to Anne Boleyn. As I
watch their love story I can't help but feel shivers
down my spine. I really thought that Anne Boleyn
really swept off his majesty's feet. He loved her like he
had loved no woman. But since the King was not
satisified with just a single dish, he accused Queen
Anne of having committed adultery and treason that
caused her a head shorter.

So much for the addiction, I feel like
having been reincarnated.

I like to wear medieval dresses and
attend masquerades someday.

And, does Jousting still exist? I'd love to
watch one sometime.

GG addiction

"Hey Upper East Siders! Gossip Girl here, bringing you

the most scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite..."
 Who doesn't know these lines?
Who hasn't seen Blair's headbands? Or Serena's

coats? Or Chuck's scarves? Or Nate's bangs? Or Dan?

Or Jenny? Or Vanessa?

I must say that I, too, am one of the avid viewers of

the American TV series, Gossip Girl..

What's not to like?

The show's setting is in

Manhattan. We all know

that a lot of American TV

series have chosen the

Earth's capital to be their

main setting.

The Office, Law

and Order, CSI, Psych,

30 Rock, Sex and the City and

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. are such.

Gossip Girl is literally a mystery person

sending gossip to everybody's mobile

phone via text or picture messages to

tell the latest happening about the main

characters -- as they are rich and

famous.

Each character has their signature personality

The meanie

Blair Waldorf is the daughter of a famous fashion designer, Eleanor Waldorf. She is entitled as the "Queen Bee" of Constance as she has minions who help her just bully just as almost anyone she likes. She is Nate Archibald's childhood sweetheart and Serena Van der Woodsen's bestfriend.

The bad-girl-gone-good

Serena Van der Woodsen is popular in Constance Billard School since men and women find her very attractive. She is adventurous and outgoing, opposite Blair who is pristine and reserved. She has dated many men considering her young age.

The womanizer

Chuck is the son of Bart Bass, owner of the Bass Industries, properties include The Palace. He is a certified womanizer. He acquired his being defensive to be able to shield his anger towards his father. He is Nate's bestfriend and in love with Blair.

The down-to-earth, pretty guy

Nate Archibald is from the wealthy family of Van der Bilt. He is Blair's childhood sweetheart but eventually is a target to cougars since he is very charming and nice.

Dan Humphrey lives in Brooklyn and got a scholarship in St. Jude's School for boys. He lives a humble and simple life until he dated Serena in the first season.

Jenny Humphrey is Dan's younger sister and also goes to Constance Billard School. She tries to be like Blair Waldorf, even competing with her through schemes and lies. She wants to be Constance's new Queen Bee but banished by her social status.

For me, Gossip Girl is television's Titanic

since F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

And I'm not just saying

this because I'm a Gossip

Girl fan.
It has this charisma that

keeps everybody tuning

into it.

If ever you get to watch E!

News, Ryan Seacrest and

Giuliana dePandi Rancic

always talk about GG.

The show is all about teenagers.

RICH Teenagers. It's all about blackmail, lies,

power-tripping, betrayal, peer pressure,

social climbing and discrimination.

It makes us see the reality that the RICH

are the POWERFUL ones.

And yet, the show also makes us realize that the RICH

are NORMAL, too.

They are true friends. They are capable

of loving. They have family problems.

They have issues. They cry. They get

betrayed.

And MONEY isn't everything --- even to

them.

The show's writer, Josh Schwartz, is just superb.

You'll never know what to expect from the main

characters.
You'll never know where the story goes.
And that's what keeps me watching it. And Blair. And

Nate. And Chuck.

I am not a teenager anymore but it

always feels good to be young at

heart~~

What about you?

What's your favorite TV series?
